Picture-postcard-perfect Paros has more than 40 beaches dotted around a crystal clear coastline that stretches 120km. From golden sand to white sand, blue water to green, and music to mud baths, there’s a patch of sand on Paros with your name on it so get ready to sink those toes in!

Pounda Beach aka Punda

If you like to be kept entertained as you sink your toes into the sand, popular Pounda Beach is perfect with its beach club (operating June-August) with a swimming pool, sun loungers, DJ, bungee jumping plus water sports including kitesurfing and windsurfing. Located 7.5km South-East of Parikia, this clean sandy beach can be accessed by car or public bus and has a selection of tavernas/beach bars with a cheaper mini market a 10minute walk away. If you prefer your beaches to be quieter and less crowded, just walk to the far end, away from the club and bars or visit outside of the peak Summer season when you’ll have the place almost to yourself.

Kolymbithres Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Kolymbithres benefits from an extra dose of Mother Nature with its incredible granite rock sculptures scattered along the seashore. Located in the Western part of Naoussa Bay, you can get to this beautiful beach by car, public bus, or by boat from Naoussa harbor. If visiting purely to enjoy Mother Nature at her best, try to avoid July-August when it becomes crowded though if you arrive early/late enough it is possible to snag some privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the sun loungers in one of the small sandy coves. A great place for snorkeling, you can also enjoy kayaking, waterskiing, and other water sports and there is a selection of bars/restaurants that line the beach road for when you get thirsty.

Monastiri Beach Aka Agios Ioannis Beach

This beautiful rocky bay with shallow green/blue waters where the yachts moor up and a monastery built on the clifftop overhead is located on the headland West of Naoussa so is usually protected from the wind. An organized beach with sun loungers, taverna, water sports, and beach parties it gets crowded in the height of Summer with an annual festival taking place each June-September with moonlit concerts, an outdoor cinema, and art exhibitions held in the park right next to the beach. Monastiri is a good beach for snorkeling and also for families with young kids or non-swimmers as the sea is calm and stays shallow for a good 100 meters.

Marcello Beach aka Martselo Beach

With views of Paros main port, perfect for watching the ferries sail in and out, this beautiful sandy beach which is actually a series of rocky coves, allows you to be tucked away from the main throng of tourists. Organized with sunbeds, a beach volleyball court, and cafes and tavernas, it is popular with both young adults and families and can become quite crowded July-August. Accessible via water taxi from Parikia Harbour, by car, or on foot, Marcello Beach joins onto Krios Beach and has a more peaceful naturist area at the far West of the beach along with some stunning cliffside walks if you keep following the beach/path around the bay!

Santa Maria Beach

A 5-minute drive from Naoussa Harbor and also accessible by boat, this powdery golden-white sand beach is actually split into 2, the first one commonly referred to as Santa Maria Camping due to the campsite nearby. Popular in June-August when it draws in the younger party crowd due to its water sports facilities which include water-skiing, windsurfing, pedalos, and scuba diving plus a great selection of beach bars that elude a cosmopolitan vibe with Summer hits drifting out over the crystal clear water. Santa Maria Beach is well organized, filled with hundreds of sunbeds and sun umbrellas with views out to Aliki Bay and neighboring Naxos but is not sheltered so can suffer from the strong winds that hit Paros.
